Three Warren County towns may decide this week to join the Coalition of Concerned Municipalities, a group fighting PSE&G’s proposed Pennsylvania-to-New Jersey power line expansion.

A trial between EnCap’s parent company, Cherokee Investment Partners, and the borough of North Arlington continues today. Cherokee wants the borough to cover some of the $39 million it spent preparing a tract of industrial land for development.

The Passaic River Coalition meets with the Morristown zoning board this week to lay the groundwork for its transformation of Willow Hall, the historic home that will become its headquarters.

The New Jersey Assembly holds hearings today and Thursday to discuss the billions of federal stimulus dollars headed our way and how they will be used (including on transportation, environmental and energy efficiency projects).

Cabela’s, a key tenant in the Xanadu megacomplex, has put off its opening until spring 2010 for economic reasons; Xanadu may see another delayed opening date.

Seven Presidents Park in Long Branch needs more volunteers to watch out for the piping plover, a rare, sparrow-sized shore bird. Last year, only three chicks born in the park survived.
