Fighting fire with fire

New Jersey forest fire crews are preventing fires in at-risk places like the Pinelands by starting them.

Controlled burns eliminate fuel for future wildfires. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service hopes to conduct the burns over 20,000 acres by March 15, and has already done them over half as many throughout the state, according to NJN environment reporter Ed Rodgers. Check out his video story below.
