Try it: Local-apple sorbet

It’s too cold for ice cream, but we stopped at the Bent Spoon in Princeton today anyway and ordered an apple sorbet.

It was so, so good, and made with apples from Terhune Orchards five miles away.

The Spoon has teamed with the orchard before. The company has been selling pints of ice cream made from Terhune-picked peaches and other local goodies at the nearby Whole Earth Center on Nassau Street. The ice cream’s packaging is recyclable, and proceeds have gone toward gardening programs at local schools (programs that supply some of the ingredients).
