It’s Memorial Day Weekend, which means it’s also Tour of Somerville weekend: four days of competitive cycling. The main event is Monday, the 50-mile Kugler-Anderson Memorial Tour of Somerville. It’s too late to register to compete, but spectators are welcome. Click here for more information.

Water for Africa Festival: Live music, fair trade shopping, artists, activities, food and more to benefit PlayPumps International, a company that installs water pumps in Sub-Saharan Africa. Saturday, noon-8 p.m., Wilde Memorial Park, Glen Rock.

South Mountain Conservancy Hike: A two-hour, four-mile hike. 10 a.m. Saturday. South Mountain Reservation, off of Cherry Lane, West Orange.

Hayrides at the Howell Living History Farm, 101 Hunter Rd., Titusville. With food and kids’ crafts. Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., $3.

Guided tours at the Raptor Trust, 1390 Whitebridge Rd., Millington (Long Hill). Learn about the wild bird hospital and its residents. Saturday, 11 a.m. $10 adults, $5 kids.

Earlybird walk: A naturalist-led walk at Kittatinny Valley State Park (Goodale Road, Andover) for adults and kids 6 to 12. Bring binoculars. Monday, 8 a.m.

Wild foods workshop: A workshop, with lunch (wild plants included) at Genesis Farm, 41A Silver Lake Rd. (Route 608), Blairstown. Monday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. $40.

    sounds like a great memorial day weekend! glad to see that there’s an event sponsoring playpumps, it’s a great company. I read this interview with Trevor Fields, from playpumps international, and its really amazing what they’re doing.
