Poll: Don’t build at EnCap site

The results of a new poll by the Record of Bergen County: A majority of New Jerseyans want to see the old landfills within the EnCap site closed or turned into recreational space. Not developed. A majority would also like to see a criminal investigation into what went wrong with the project.

Nearly 60 percent of 600 New Jerseyans polled by the Record said they want the landfills closed or converted to green space. In 2007, just 43 percent wanted to see more parks and open space at the site. Sixty-four percent want a criminal investigation.
