Americans still choose green over economic growth

Even in these economic hard times, more Americans said they prioritized protecting the environment (49 percent) over protecting the economy (42 percent) in a recent Gallup poll. But the gap between the two is narrowing (see the link).

In the poll, conducted March 6-9, the pro-environment responders said they’d favor protecting the environment even at the risk of curbing economic growth.
