Horseshoe crab ban becomes official

Horseshoe crabbing was banned indefinitely today — Gov. Corzine signed the crab ban. From the Associated Press:
“We all have to recognize that one action begets another action, and in the last few years I think we all (have) come to realize how fragile our Earth is and it needs to be protected,” Corzine said before signing the ban into law.
This is good news for red knots, migratory birds who eat the crabs. Bon appetite.
