Stormy weather

This weekend brought rain, rain and more rain. And heavy winds.

Wind gusts from the storms could have exceeded 70 miles per hour, a National Weather Service meteorologist told the Bergen Record.

Tens of thousands of people lost power, and thousands were still without it earlier today.

Flood warnings are still in effect in Essex, Morris and Passaic counties. Minor flooding is occurring on the Passaic River, the Lower Rockaway River and the Wanaque River and others, according to the National Weather Service.
